Upload Center Help
Welcome to the 2010 One Show Upload Center. Using the Upload Bar at the bottom of the page you can upload and manage files for your entries.
Steps in order to upload files
- Log into your account. Click the
button at the lower right corner of the screen.
- Select your file or multiple files using the shift key. Your upload should begin as soon as you click the select button.
- Once your file(s) are uploaded you can attach them to an entry by selecting "File Upload" in step 3 of entry creation. To attach a file to an entry simply check the box next to its name and Save. If you start an upload during step 3 it will be automatically attached to the current entry.
If you are having trouble with the uploader, visit this page for alternative methods of transmission, including FTP information.
Tips for using the Uploader
- Give your files names that are meaningful so you will be able to easily match them to the correct entry.
- The thumbnail shown to the left of your uploaded file's name is just for reference to help you visually identify your files.
- Consider organizing your files and uploading them all at once. The upload may take a while so you might want to start your upload at the end of your day and leave your computer on to transfer while you are away.
To prevent large files from causing unnecessary strain on the upload service The One Club maintains a maximum file size policy for each entry type. Any file that is over the file sizes listed below will be rejected by the upload service. If your file is larger than the maximum file size, recompress the file using the guidelines listed in the Video Submission Guidelines.
30 Second Spot - 40 MB
60 Second Spot - 80 MB
90 Second Spot - 110 MB
3 Minute Video - 200 MB
ENTRIES OVER 3 MINUTES IN LENGTH SHOULD BE SUBMITTED VIA BETA TAPE OR DATA DVD.
30 Second Spot - 7 minutes
60 Second Spot - 15 minutes
90 Second Spot - 25 minutes
3 Minute Video - 45 minutes
*Note - estimate transfer times are based on the user’s connection speed and One Club’s server load. Above estimations based on a standard 1 MB/sec cable connection. Their speeds may vary, with slower connections taking up to 5 minutes per 1 MB of video and faster connections taking less than 30 seconds per 1 MB of video.
FAQs About the Upload Center
- Why is my file name in gray and not allowing me to select it?
The uploader only accepts files in two formats: Quicktime MOVs (encoded with H.624 codec) and JPEGs. If your file is in another format, you must convert it in order to upload.
- Why do I keep getting "file too large" errors?
The maximum file size that the uploader will accept is 250MB. Anything larger will need to be re-encoded following the specifications listed on our Video Submission Guidelines page.
- I am selecting my files and see them appearing in my queue but the progress bar stays on 0%. Why is this?
Check with your IT department to see if they are blocking either FTP or HTTP uploads. Also check this page to see if the Simple Uploader works or to get information about FTP uploads.
